What’s Béchamel sauce?
Bechamel sauce is like your classic white sauce – made with butter, flour, milk, salt, and pepper. It’s the base sauce, also known as white sauce in some places. In French cooking, it’s seen as the ‘Mother of all sauces’. A good Bechamel sauce is creamy, thick, and lush, designed to be the starting point for loads of tasty dishes. It’s also handy for making the white sauce in Lasagna, soups, and loads of different curries.
